This was an excellent episode, but I'm confused by a lot that went down. I need to do a rewatch tomorrow.

Me, too! I'm extremely confused.
So Liz shot the original RR and then KR took [who. . .? Maybe her brother? in any case, "the imposter"] to the doctor (?)

-So Dembe isn't going to kill the nurse; he's resettling her in Scotland (?)
-Jennifer is going to stay with a friend in Long Island.
-And it looks like Red is going to escape from prison (in two weeks -- Where's that crying emoji? -- two weeks !!!)
Now, at least we know for sure Fitch was involved with the Cabal and that he wanted the original Red killed.
I'm also assuming that he knew someone assumed Red's identity and made a deal with the imposter (I leave you alone and you leave me alone).
How does Dom fit into all this? He has to know about Red because he was there when the bones were burned.
We didn't really get any answers, just a lot more questions. (No, I didn't expect anything different)
(RR said that he had done a lot of bad things, but he had never betrayed his country . . . I'm trying to reconsile that with how he always says, "Your country . . ." to various people when speaking about the US. Argh !!!)

Wait, are we saying this still isn't Red? I thought it was..just changed by KR/Cabal betrayal? Is he back to being considered Liz's dad - or not?
I guess I really do need a rewatch...

Iowa Watcher - It's hard to know if Dembe resettled the nurse or killed her. He will lie for Liz, so maybe he would not kill the nurse. I like to think he would just hide her away.

It did feel that way for a few minutes. But I think he's still an imposter. I thought his testimony in the third person was kind of telling. Why wouldn't he testify using the pronouns I and me - because he had sworn to tell to truth, and he's not RR.

Yes, I want to think that he didn't kill the nurse. She had a cute little dog with her. Red doesn't kill dogs.

I agree. But we are left with a huge question: why did he assume the original Red's identity?
If the original Red is Liz's father, I suspect imposter Red is her uncle.

Well given the 12/7/90 tape, I'm back to full support of whomever he turns out to be!

Great episode -- Red's narrations were amazing. Only problem with inevitable imposter revelation is that so much time, energy & resources have been put into Spader/Reddington character. Even the imposter narrative can't undo 6 yrs of TV Reddington.
Thought Ken Leung's assistant would finally talk tonite - but NO - court table candy!

BBB - They wasted pay on that assistant. LOL

In real life, she's probably related to someone associated with the show, and they got her on there in order to give her some screen time for her resume.

Yay, I got my Fitch fix! I hope Tabasko was watching tonight.
I still think the real RR's death was "inconvenient". However it happened, it didn’t just need to be covered up, it needed to have the myth that he was still very much alive to be perpetuated. If we hadn’t had the bones and their DNA testing, I would suspect that RR was actually still alive but had run off with Katarina and they were both living deep undercover somewhere. Maybe that was the original plan until - oops! - he died.
I really like that Liz confided in Ressler and told him everything, and that he is willing to help her. I was afraid, though, that he was going to say something on the stand and give everything away. Liz didn’t want him to lie. But he only told one actual lie - that RR was in this courtroom today. But one thing Red has, is terrific radar. He knows Ressler knows something.
And Dembe. Dembe wants justice of sorts. It bothers him that Red's withholding of the truth from Liz has cost so much for everyone involved. He didn’t tell on Liz, but he pulled a perfect Reddington in not having to outright lie only because Red didn’t ask him a question that would have given it away. He just didn’t offer up the identity of the betrayer as being Jennifer. I’m sure Red will figure it out eventually, though.
Jennifer just couldn’t take any more of this stuff, so she left. I pretty much buy that, for now. After all, she got scared and beat up pretty badly by Imhotep.
I hope Renard got relocated to Scotland by way of landing at an airport, and not like the Director.
So, earlier I posted in the Questions thread that I had hoped we might get some info regarding Fitch's part in all of this. Wow, did I get a nice surprise in hour two! I didn’t really expect that. I had only written my post because it’s what I would have liked to see: some sort of Fitch connection. I think the story that Red told on the stand was the truth - or as he said to,Liz back in Leonard Caul, "Part of it." And we ended with Ressler asking the big question, why woud whoever he he is choose to become a pariah . To become Raymond Reddington. If Katarina took him to Koehler, why him? He was there the night of the fire. Was fire night a planning session or a confrontation? Did he have any choice in the RR switcheroo? Perhaps he was willingly going to take RRs place so he (the real Reddington) could escape to a new life with Katarina and Masha. Or was he "drafted" after the shooting? We have been given part of the story, but oh, we have also been given so many new questions.

Iowa Watcher - If we see Dembe with a little dog in upcoming episodes, we'll know he killed the nurse.

Honey West - I'm glad you got your Fitch fix! It was great to see him again and hear more about the Cabal part of the story. I'm more confused than ever about Fitch's role in the story.
I too like that Liz confided in Ressler and told him everything, and that he is willing to help her. Red does know Ressler knows something. Does that mean Ressler is marked for death by Red now? I worry for his safety. If Red truly believes Liz didn't turn him in, won't he suspect Ressler of that?
I buy Jennifer's exit too. She served her purpose as a plot device, and Ressler now takes her place with Liz as the one trying to find out who Red truly is.
"I hope Renard got relocated to Scotland by way of landing at an airport, and not like the Director." What Dembe said did remind me of Peter getting dropped off in The Director.

Haven't seen a woman take a beating like Jennifer did when being interrogated by the bad guy. He was a killer from the word go. The images of her were extremely grotesque - they wouldn't dare have done that to Liz or Samar, but no hesitation doing it to a guest star connected to Reddington.
I'm hoping the next episode has Red taking over the prison as warden while the old warden listens to classical music on vinyl (behind bars)
