Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

Nice list!
I am wondering what happens with Ressler, do you think this is going to surface in a future episode?

Tatiana, this was a good way to put it.
I felt a bit claustrophobic in this episode. They were inside in obviously staged settings which is so not like TBL. What I really did like was the interaction between Dembe and Red.

Just as I predicted, this episode has fans on other sites saying it's proof Jennifer is not really Jennifer.  I still believe she is Jennifer, daughter of real Reddington.

Why are they saying that Tuxie?  Do they think she works for Alter Ego?

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

It seems most logical that it might be Jennifer’s voice on the tape. Red could kill her easily. After all, he doesn’t have a connection to her like he does to Liz, whatever it might be. So she wouldn’t have Liz Immunity.

HW, I thought that, but I was wondering how he would justify to Liz killing her sister?  As far as he knows right now, they both think they are his daughters.

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

Eastcoast - Many fans have always been suspicious of Jennifer since Season 4. Some now say she works for Alter Ego, and others say the Alter Ego thing is a parallel for a fake Jennifer.

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

There just isn't any evidence that Jennifer is not who she says she is. Possible? Anything's possible. Probable? No.

At the end of last season I had suggested that Liz was going dark. We already know she's capable of it. TBL have made a big deal about two can play the same game, about a race. And all of that has been between Red and Liz. Remember when Liz put the rose on Tom's grave she swore she would get back at Liz, that she learned from the master.

She and Jennifer are working together. Liz asked Dr. Fulton to be at the ready. What is going on? it's very clear. Red and Liz are in a race. Liz is determined to win. She has people now, people who will help her. Her sister. Now, Liz feels like she finally has family with her sister and she implicitly trusts her. But the last time she saw Jennifer, she realized that for her, their sister relationship is not enough: Jennifer is 100% focused on taking down the man who ruined her life: Red.

That's not what Liz planned for. To her, that feels like a bit of disloyalty. Plus, Liz wanted to call it off, but Jennifer pushed for it.

There is a very low probability, but a probability nonetheless that Liz will kill Jennifer just as Red killed Grey, his man, in the early part of the series.

Because ultimately the race is between Liz and Red an no one else really matters.

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

I tend to believe it was Liz's voice on the 911 call  since she said she was the one who turned Red in.

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

Tatiana - I do think it will be interesting to see if Liz enlists Dr. Fulton's help this season. I really don't expect Liz to kill Jennifer, unless it's in self defense. But I don't trust Jennifer, so I think it could come to a deadly fight between the two.

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

I got a image in my head of Liz trying to save Jen from falling, but letting her slip on purpose when finding that Jen had done something that got Red almost dead. (In a flatlining way of dead, but he'll survive of course). This after Liz has found out the truth and has in her subconscious forgiven him, but not yet on conscious level.
Plot twist could be that audience believes Red is dead and after Jen has fallen to her death, we'll see the ending scene of the whole series with Liz and Red (and Dembe) on a beach somewhere. He's retired with maybe a new identity for all of them and they'll live in relative peace. ('cause knowing Red even retirement ain't gonna slow him down )

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

The writers left the door open for Fulton to come back.  I have been wondering if they were going to use her or not.  It will be interesting to see if she does the prison evaluations.  It would not surprise me.  This could be how she gets the real scoop on the inside.

Eastcoast, yes. One of the upcoming episodes says Red enlists the help of a psychiatrist, not Dr Fulton, but I have to say it's interesting they're 'going there'.

NP - That would be interesting if Liz let Jennifer fall to her death. That kind of reminds me of Red letting Windigo fall in Season 3.

It would fit the dark Liz theme and no matter how angry she is with Red, if the reason behind Red taking up the mantle of RR is proper and involves her safety (as Red insist) she'll choose him over Jennifer whom is her blood relation but whom she isn't emotionally invested in. Coupling that with the sisters knowing the truth already but Jen acting on her own out of groundless hate for the man she felt ruined her life, causing Red to get shot, flatlining etc (like in season 2). Liz would feel that being a betrayal towards Red and herself, which would give her a moment of hesitation, just enough to allow her grip of Jen's hand to loosen and making Jen to fall.
Depending on how dark she's gone, she might not feel guilt over the fact, but could bring it up with say, Dembe, who would say it was her shock of learning Jen's betrayal and not any ill will towards her sister. (accident brought on by Jen's betrayal, not Liz becoming Red and doing it consciously.)

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

I still don't trust TBL writers with Jennifer's mythology! Seems they don't have an idea where they're taking this particular character - hoping one of the writers or producers have a brilliant idea before the clock runs out . . . .

BBB - I trust Jennifer's back story, I just don't trust her motives in connection with Liz. Let's hope the showrunners know where they're going with her character. Frankly, I would like to see more of her.

Jennifer took a back seat once the prison episodes began. The court-room and Red's gun have been the primary focus - basically time-killing eps designed to showcase Spader's thespian skills. Heck, they haven't shown anything from the prison for 2 eps - including Ratt Rattington or Red's prison helper monkeys. Alter Ego's black-listers barely took in screen time - they also have to maintain Samar's memory story-line, let alone giving air to the series co-star Meghan Boone.

Re: Episode 6.05 - Alter Ego

I would like to see more of Jennifer myself just to at least get more back story if nothing else.

BBB, I think we will get more rat time because Red looks to have a cell phone. Via the rat? Lol

My biggest question right now is why he is in a public court system and not in a Navy prison hole again?
Some of this makes No sense.

I think it's just a plot device. Also, the other times he turned himself in, but this time he got caught by local authorities and it was highly publicized.

Tuxie, I just think it is a bit out of sorts.  It was on TV when he was arrested in Braxton and they took him to an oil rig.  Lol
