Ha, I loved Fractured Fairy Tales!

Tatiana - thanks for the reminder on the virtual reality thing. Oh yes I think it def was that. I had it in my written notes but forgot to post.
Which is, in itself, interesting. Want to go back and rewatch what he was seeing.

Re Jennifer. Yes to all those things. She had to be protected from Reddington and continues to be. And that was why she left.
The question is why. Why does she need to be protected and why does Garvey protect her. I agree it’s a mirror to Red/Liz. What us Garvey’s connection to her that he continues to be devoted to her.
And, incidentally with Red and others on his tail, he took a risk by visiting her that he would be found out. Kind of like Reds risk with Liz by being back in her life.

Re Belgrade. I continue to think that was on purpose and is a clue of some sort. Too obvious and there are a bunch of people who could have caught that. (I hope). 😏

I know some of you have questioned whether there was a second child present at the fire. Could Jennifer have been there? She was older, would have had a better memory and more accurate descriptions. But the focus may have been more on Liz because of KR so she was the one who needed memory modification? Or maybe she did have her memory modified but in a way that made her fear Red?
Or does the fear instilled in her come from all the other ways Red has talked about everyone believing he was evil and a criminal and his efforts to become that since it was what people believed of him?

That was Tuxie :-)
But it's a very interesting inclusion... there's a lot of those in this episode!

Tessatbltheorist was the first to point it out on Tumblr but I think anyone who's watched the pilot a few times (uh, or as often as I have...) would notice it. Belgrade was Anslo Garrick.
And I have a horrible memory!

Red is the one who called Ressler's assasination attempt Belgrade. As Tessa says, maybe he had early onset dementia. Or not. Belgrade was from the Luther Braxton episodes. Actually Lara1 pointed it out here before Tessa, and I noticed it immediately in the promo but lara1 had already commented on it.

It could be that he said Belgrade to Ressler for a reason that will show up in a future episode. Ressler knows darn well that Red would have referenced Brussels and why bring it up right then? I think he was setting the stage for something where Ressler will remember the conversation and say "wait a second, Reddington said Belgrade back in Paris, instead of Brussels." And it will be a clue related to whatever plan he’s cooking up with his recent Blacklister buddies. But he wanted Ressler to know it. On purpose. It wouldn’t make sense right then, but later it will. Sort of a Tommy Markin thing. At least that’s what I think about it. Red doesn’t make those kinds of mistakes, especially since the one and only time he and Ressler talked about it was during those stressful, possibly final, moments in Anslo Garrick part one.

HoneyWest - interesting thoughts. Yes, there was that pointed discussion in Anslo about it (Brussels) between Red and Ressler. And, Anso harping on to Ressler about how he gave Ressler all the info he needed and REssler still messed it up. and then Red says kind of, so what, I knew about it all the time. Not to mention its in the pilot too.
So I don't think the people involved in those scenes would miss it. In Braxton, there's a discussion of Belgrade, which I also find curious to add to the mix. I guess we'll see.

Time will tell. I think it was a continuity error that no one caught.
I agree, Iowawatcher. Things get missed during revisions and it isn’t anything vital to the mythology or that current plot line. I doubt anyone who isn’t as obsessed as fandom is even noticed it.

That would be an interesting twist HW. It would be hard to believe that none of the cast members especially Ressler or Red would not have caught that. It could be why Donald said No, it's not.

Two things:
1. Brussels was in '08, 10 years
ago.
2. Res says '5 years ago 'in Belgrade' that would have been in 2013.

With the changing bones and the Belgrade/Brussels snafu, I just hope we don't have some sideways world like Lost did.

Right! He got 2 things wrong.
Hard to believe they let 2 things get by them, but maybe they did. Donald did say No, it's not.
So the writers could cover it by saying Donald thought he had too much to drink and didn't correct him or they could say there was another time and they didn't mention it. lol
(In my opinion, Red wouldn't forget anything even if he were drunk.)
But HW really had a nice little twist. We have to wait and see. Maybe the writers will be polite enough to let us know.

What he said was, 5 years later and here you are with me ......
So I guess that isn't 2 mistakes. He was just referring to the time he had been with the task force.

I never looked at Lost Tuxie. A friend told me that I should be glad I didn't.

Eastcoast - Yes, the five years does not refer to Belgrade, it refers to the time they've been working together on the task force.
I imagine fans who've rewatched episodes many times remember Brussels far better than Spader or Diego would. They don't worry much about past details. They just worry about the next script coming their way. Spader worries about picky little things like grammar and what his character would do going forward.

I still think he said Belgrade on purpose. There is a Serbian connection going on here. Remember all of those Serbian books at Dom's house , for one thing. Yugoslavia broke up between 1990-92. I spent a couple of days in Belgrade many years ago on the way from Greece to Austria. Tito was still in power but his health wasn’t good. I’ll never forget talking to our Austrian tour guide about how they worried about what would happen in the region when Tito finally died as he was the strongman holding it together. Interesting times. But mainly I remember the rest stop we had between the Greek border and Belgrade along the main highway. Literally a spot with lots of bushes and no facilities. (finally an excuse to use that one! LOL!)
