Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

Brittany, I wondered if that wasn't Jennifer he was kissing.

I think there's more to it than meets the eye.

Brittany and Tatiana - I also wondered if that was Jennifer who he was kissing. Garvey and Jennifer as the alternate Red and Liz.

Yes, Garveyis certainly being portrayed as a mirror image, so it makes perfect sense.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

What I had been wondering is if he was Jennifer's father a while back.  He looked at those bones last night in a sad wondering way.  That is why I wondered if Naomi could have ended up in the suitcase.
He may just be a relative like an uncle.  Could be Jennifer's father in the suitcase, possibly Garvey's brother. But Tom would not have recognized that name, but we do not know yet if Garvey is his real name and I doubt it is.
Maybe it is Frank in the suitcase? lol who knows?

Could be.  Other parallels - didn't Red kiss Liz on the forehead during the Tom/boat saga in Season 2?  And didn't he kiss Stratos on the forehead, when he had to leave him behind to die?

I do wonder whether this woman is Garvey's daughter or his (possibly older) child bride.  The woman we saw in bed with him had dark hair, no?  if that was even the same person.

but I do like the idea of Garvey/someone (Jennifer of not) mirroring Red/Liz.   I've thought Garvey was a "second" kind of Red since we first saw him..... If Garvey is Jennifer's father....well lots of possibilities there.

Red also kissed Liz on the forehead just this season in Ruin.

It was pretty hard to see the woman in bed with Garvey, and the room was dark. so maybe that's why her hair looked dark.

I replayed that scene with Garvey multiple times and you cannot even tell the gender of his bed companion.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

I watched the sneak peek from this episode.   I found Red's behavior so interesting.  He was detached, emotionless, didn't even really look at Liz in that part. And in that part at the end where he talks about her not having something precious she wants to keep to herself he seemed almost sad.  I'm definitely intrigued to see how this plays out.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

It seems like we're getting a lot of spoilers on this episode. Does anyone else think so?

No, not compared to many other episodes this season.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

So anyone catch how in the spoiler released yesterday I think, Red talks to Ressler about how Ressler tried to kill him in Belgrade?  When it was Bruissels?  That for some reason took me immediately back to an old theory I had, that there are in fact "two" "Reds" and there have been for the entirety of what we have been seeing.  Which is one way to explain the inconsistencies.  Or, maybe forgetfulness or messing up key facts from the past (as in REd's "lifeguard" story to Nico of how he never went in the water again...)   And how Red could possibly have been in all of those places, done all of those things, at the same time (which I never thought possible but hey this is TBL so I go with it)

Yes, I caught the Belgrade mistake right away. Again, I'm thinking the "mistakes" are purposeful.

Yes agree.  Even if the writers messed up such a key detail from the pilot and Anslo, there are plenty I think who would have caught it, who have been with the series from the pilot

And, I think these "mistakes" are becoming more frequent and in some ways, more obvious.....like this one...which may play into the season finale or the "reveal".

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

What occurred to me about that promo with Red and Liz in the movie theater was how absurd it was. Red and Liz seem to be in a deserted theater, and they have drinks and popcorn.  But they are watching a 1946 black and white film with Rita Hayworth in an iconic scene from Gilda singing Put the Blame on Mame. There is a verse in that song about a shooting where the blame was put on the wrong person. Also, there is a fake death in the movie, a love triangle, and the gambler/leading man taking the blame for the shooting of a man who was supposed to already be dead. Also, it involved a love-hate relationship with Gilda and the Glenn Ford character. Both characters try to get back at each other in sadistic ways.
