Tuxie400 - thanks for that. I caught the reference but didn't write down the films. yes the metal cages are interesting to me. Nearly every ep since I started noticing them around 5.4 has had them.....

Along with metal fencing, several episodes have thick plastic dividers instead of walls - like this week's candy warehouse and the mobile medical units (3 of them) in The Endling. I know I've seen some more, but I can't remember the exact episodes.

Is Katarina Rostova alive?

1. Red always insisted to Liz that Katarina was dead until the Velov reveal. Did Red really not know, or did he mean she was dead metaphorically?
2. Velov told Liz in a letter he'd followed her to Prague where she left a photo of Masha/Liz behind. I can't think of any motivation Velov would have to lie to Liz.
3. Dom says, "What really happened to her - I think there are some people who want to keep that a secret. And I think they will do whatever is necessary even now to keep it that way" That tells me she didn't die walking into the ocean.. But yet he did accuse Red of killing his whole family.
4. If Red wasn't the one who helped her escape, was it Dom? He does always wear plaid. LOL

I think there are three options:
1. Katarina is alive somewhere.
2. Katarina is Redarina.
3. Katarina staged her suicide, but died later, perhaps due to something Red did.

Tuxie400 - well we know KR really did walk into the ocean, or at least made it seem that way by what Kate read in the newspaper KR called Kate from Cape May and seemed distraught and looked back to the ocean at one point, basically saying she wouldn't be back. Or not for a long time.

And then in Cape May, Red despairs because he ultimately can't stop her disappearing in the water.

So I think the ocean is definitely part of it. Then with Vanessa Cruz, similar story and she faked her death.

One of my questions is whether KR faked her death from REd. In other words he never knew what happened. Its still unclear whether he was at Cape May when this all happened; we only know he was there once a long time ago. And he sees the ghost in the front lobby.

I can't get my head any further than that ---

I often think like some others that Red has her stashed somewhere. But in Cape May he seemed so distraught at having lost her.

But, from what Dom said, it seems to me that she did not drown, really. Because he seems to imply that someone knows what really happened and is guarding that secret.

But if she is alive who the heck is in the suitcase and what secret does it reveal about Red.

LOL. back to the drawing board.

lara1 - The witnesses to Katarina's walking into the ocean could have been paid to tell that story. It kind of reminds me of the guy who took rap for kidnapping and killing Christopher Hargrave.

I have no doubt that Katarina was at Cape May and left her clothes and that locket behind. But whether she really drowned is questionable.

Yes that is possible. Christopher Hargrave - another disappearance from a beach.

that would be interesting if the witnesses were paid off to say they saw her walk into the ocean. Something I thought was interesting about Red's hallcuination or whatever of KR walking into the ocean was that she only left her coat and neckalce on the beach whereas he said she left her clothes, which made me think all of them. Calling a coat "clothes" would seem weird. I've always wondred if it meant anything (plus in Requiem we saw her wearing the same outfit when she called Kate from the beach).

On a slightly off topic moment that I thought some of you might appreciate, I was pleased as punch to discover that DirectvNow is now LIVE STREAMING my local NBC affiliate, so no more pleading with the weather gods every Wednesday night to watch Blacklist! Hooray! I'm wondering how long I've had it and just missed it. lol

I wonder if Liz is going to realize that "Oleander" was part of Kaplan's instructions, or at least, it seems to be. Liz has just seen doodles of Tom's and may just think he found a connection to Oleander somewhere. But if she realizes, or thinks, that it may be part of instructions from Kaplan, she's going to be digging in a lot deeper, IMO. Because then its a connection with Kaplan, and not just a clue.

I keep wishing the connection of Aram having gone to Dom’s house to find Red back when he thought Liz was dead would come up. Because I think it would give Liz a nudge to look at Dom again. If she isn’t suspicious already.

BBB - #173 - That would be a wild reunion. When Liz does find out Dom is her grandfather, she's gonna be very mad at Red for keeping him from her.

Brittany #172. Thanks for the reminder about Aram. There’s a real possibility/danger that Liz may mention something in psssing that catches Aram’s ear. Especially if liz rejoins the task force.

I need to focus on liz’s reaction to dom to see if she bought it. If not, at least that buys him /red some time to figure out a strategy. Or at least arm themselves for a very angry Liz! Angry doesn’t even begin to cover it! 😖

If Liz showed up at Dom's - with Red & Dembe in attendance - and the truths emerged - don't think she'd flip out point of knowledge. What would she do - shoot Dom, set fire to Dembe, slit Red's throat?

Didn't think so. She'd be set into a spin of remorse, especially if she found Red orchestrated Tom's death in any way, shape or form. Whether she'd take the time to listen to Red's full-bore explanation - DON'T KNOW, that's essential to the story-line!

BBB - I tend to agree, though I would think Liz would fly into some kind of rage. We've seen it before with her and Red. And think of what she did to Tom when she confirmed he was duping her? that was a nasty fight in their apartment, LOL. Though I don't think she will lock up Red in a boat.

Although Liz walking out of Red's life would be more devastating to him.

Liz subduing, capturing and retaining Dom, Red & Dembe in the hold of a cargo ship - now that would be incredibly funny! Even funnier if they made it a Fantastic 4 - and added either Aram or Glen (or even Anthony or Big Willy) into the cargo hold . . . . . LOL
