That was my thought too. And maybe Berlin was part of it too. Thinking about what Tuxise400 said about the fingers, consider this:

Berlin cuts off his HAND to get out of custody in the plane.
Berlin cuts off (or has someone cut off) ONE of Naomi's fingers
Someone cuts off TWO of Caul's fingers
Garvey (or his cronies) cut off THREE of Pete's fingers

In an episode that mentions BERLIN by name more than once. And we had references to Berlin last episode also

What if Berlin wasn't just that one person but a group? Pure speculation here, going on what Fitch said to Red about Milos: Berlin? Is that what name he is going by now? (or something like that).

Just a thought. or Berlin the person was part of this wider group.

And by the way I think Berlin knew Naomi way back when. He knew personal things about her in order to trace her. And I think they knew each other well. Just my two cents.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add - that close up of the hand (same side) strangling Nik I thought was scarred or marked on two fingers, anyway, the emphasis on that hand made me think of Caul and Berlin.

Did the killer use more than one hand? I could not tell. If he killer were able to kill Nik primary with one hand, the killer is very strong.

That could be. After all, we had two Berlins back then. And what about that connection Tom made in Season 2 about Berlin and Katarina - that they were both wearing Russian inspection rings? Nothing more ever came of that connection.

Tuxie400 - oh yes, I forgot all about that. KR in the swing photo. I wonder if anyone else since has worn a similar ring and Just never noticed or pulled it together.

Interestingly, although we see KR in Requiem and in Summer Palace wearing her locket (presumably that Dom, or at least, "Papa", gave to her) we do not see her wearing that ring. On purpose, or an oversight?

Blonde KR has the ring (but no locket) and redhead KR has the locket but not the ring.

I just realize that this Blacklister was another K and another C......Kilgannon Corporation.

I a really starting to wonder what is up with all of the Ks and Cs except for the references to Christmas. (Kris Kringle, Christmas). But that's as far as I can get with this.

HELLO! It's been awhile since I've posted. But now that I've watched this last episode (and have seen them read Highlights together, play Banangrams together, play mini-golf together, et cetera, et cetera), I just have to call Red and Dembe the next Alan Shore and Denny Crane!

Interesting thoughts on the fingers and Berlin. The fingers made me think of the Yakuza. Fingers get cut off as either punishment or apology, starting with the tip of the pinky finger. The idea being that in the old samurai days the sword was held primarily by the thumb and index finger but the other fingers helped control it. Less fingers equals less control and more dependence on the group.

That is an interesting thought that Berlin was maybe a group with Milos Kirchoff as the face of the group. I suspect Oleander might be the same. Or it’s a code name for something. Maybe its face is Garvey?

There are so many great comments! I cant remember who all said what. Someone mentioned the story being told on 2 levels. Yes, I do agree with that! On one hand Red feels like Liz cant take the whole truth but on the other hand it causes a lot of problems not telling her the truth to begin with.

I have a thought about the fire night so I am going to put it over there.

I've been rewatching Boston Legal the last couple of days. I'd love to see William Shatner come to the Blacklist, even just for an episode.

And I realized the other day that Alan Shore had a great-haired, rule-following blond nemesis in Brad Chase and that now Red has one in Donald Ressler. lol

I can't remember if I have left a comment on this thread yet. As much as I really loved everything about this episode (and teared up over Dembe and Red...and even some of that got little soapy on the airplane), I'm also growing tired of the drawn out and/or piece-y story lines. Showrunners, please just tell us more information about the suitcase. We promise we won't jump ship if the bones aren't KR, Real RR, Real Liz, or a sibling, Red's daughter. I actually hope we're introduced into a new world of crazy, but it's time. I'm going over here and starting to lose interest!

Patter - I think we'll be thrown into a new world of crazy in the fall finale, but I have my doubts about whether we'll find out who's in the suitcase until later in the season. I'm starting to think it won't be anyone we've thought of so far.

Patter I think a lot of us can understand. I said a long time ago I wish they would just give the answers and then unfold the story of how it happened. I just recently got someone to start watching it again. If they start dragging everything out they will stop again.
