Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

So - I guess real Red is truly back now.  No more lounging by the pool wasting time and cracking jokes.  LOL

Wait, was Crespin reporting to Red? Did I interpret that correctly?

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

The way I took it, Tom has been working for Red all of this time.  Or he lied, but yes Crespin was working for Red.

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

I'm pretty sure Tom lied about working for Red. He's using all his silver-tongued lies to try to stay alive. But at least Crespin knows what happened to Tom, and can report that to Red too.  I hope. I have to confess, I've always liked Tom.

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

Tom is a good - but fairly flat actor. More a sex symbol type.

Much like Justin Harley in 'This is Us', that type.

Tom, Justin, Harry Lennix, Diego Klattenhoff, Liz - all fairly flat actors!

I can't believe that next week is the finale already.

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

Tuxie400 - yeah Tom is probably lying about working for Red.  But it would be the twist to end all twists i he'd been working for Red all of this time.  Would make a lot of dialogue between Red and Tom over the past two seasons really interesting.......

Now, there's that strong season 1 vibe and all the BERLIN references.  Is he or isn't he??   LOL.

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

lara1 - Well, Tom worked for Red before, and that was a really good twist in Season 2. But I really think they are working against each other this time.

I found the suitcase part of this episode confusing and weird. From what I got, Pete was not an operative and was not working for any other party. He believed his CODIS search with Liz’s badge drew these men to him. I was very surprised that Crespin was working for Red. Why would he or Red want Lena to forget Pete McGee? Wouldn’t Crespin want the same type info from Lena that Tom was getting?

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

Tuxie400 - yes I need to think through Crespin.  A re-watch may clear it.  Maybe Red didn't want Lena in the way or getting hurt given what he knew might happen?  Part of the surprise Ambush twist reveal.  LOL

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

Things I liked about this episode:

1. Dembe's smiles
2. Dembe's interactions with the little girl
3. Red's explanation to Liz about why Dembe has stayed with him all these years.
4. The Red/Liz hug - I always love those!
5. Cooper's advice to "Let it play out." (Repeated dialog from Season 1 with Jolene and Cowboy.)

Observations:
1. This is the first time we've seen Red kill anyone in a long time.
2. Ian Garvey is pretty ruthless. Shooting a woman in the back like that is pretty bad.
3. I need to rewatch the Tom/suitcase scenes soon to get a better handle on what's going on. I don't think Ian Garvey is Oleander, and we now know Crespin works for Red. I'm doubting we find out who Oleander is next week.

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

Tuxie400 - liked your observations.  Cooper's advice - similar to Red too with the "apples" and the Director.

I agree i don't think Garvey is Oleander.  It would be a wild twist if Oleander were, like, a supreme good guy, white knight.  LOL

I found Garvey's words about the suitcase very interesting.  And yes he is absolutely ruthless.  (I'm intrigued by why he has the same haircut  as Red and wears glasses too.) He seemed to imply that there are a LOT of people out there who would kill for the suitcase.  Even though its of most value to Red.  Probably to keep all of those others from getting it.  I think that's the final nail for me, that it's not a child.  I just can't forsee how the death of a child would cause that reaction.  Anything is possible of course.

OH, and, the DNA search triggered somehow the appearance of Garvey.  So is he/was he with the intelligence services.  I guess Red will tell us next week!

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

Did anyone see the City promo on Aly's site - for next week?  It keeps featuring papers flying around that have a series of dark rectangular like shapes in boxes.  I'd say they were fingerprints (looks like two rows of five) but they look too solid to be prints.  May just be how they were photographed and/or appear on screen.  anyone have thoughts on that?  In the scene where there are multiple such papers flying around, there are also some papers that look like they could be intelligence reports, stamped "Classified" in red at the top with a black and white photo clipped to the top left side.  It looks like there are either multiples of them, or just the same one blurred image the way they photographed it......very excited to see next week.

...of course I'm automatically seeing fingerprints on those papers because I think the fingerprints in Red's file are fake fake fake.  LOL.

Re: Episode 5.07 - The Kilgannon Corporation - Discussion Page

Got home late so need to rewatch from the beginning. Whoa, Ian Garvey is one tough customer. I kind of think that Red is going to try to rescue Tom. Tom had to say something like he was working for Red. I think if he told Garvey that he was Reds son in law that would have been like the worst thing to admit to and would drag Liz right into things. I wonder if Garvey knows the whole Red/Liz story already or if he is one of those dark forces that got stirred up.

Dembe is just the coolest guy. Trying to save Red's soul, eh? I thought that was supposed to be Liz's job?
