Thanks BBB - as of. a few hours ago, NBC had changed SVU and Chicago PD but was keeping TBL new episode.  I guess we'll see.  The downside is that the ratings will probably tank as a result but maybe they figure most of the viewership is on delayed viewing anyway, I don't know.

I'm a sports fan - used to broadcast hockey, fastball, baseball & even curling (yep, curling) back in the day. But now I'd rather watch a 1 hr ep of my favourite shows. Ever since Person of Interest was taken off the air the world hasn't been the same - so small mercies like TBL, Bull, The Good Doctor, Wisdom of the Crowd fill significant gaps.

This game with all the heraldry and fooferaa could take 4 to 6 hours to complete. Better to take a few lumps now - especially if CBS is delaying its slate of new episodes tonite and take as many of the non-sports fans as possible PLUS the extra counts from PVRs and other delayed views (ie. streaming)

I'm looking forward to tonite - hate to see them bow down to sports! But in the end I fear they'll meek out!

BBB #121.  Good point.  those not watching sports will maybe watch TBL rather than re-runs on the other networks.  We'll see.

Re: Episode 5.05 - Ilyas Surkov - Discussion Page

Tuxie400, Colleen, others, I posted some stuff about parallels from this episode to the pilot back on screen 6 of this page.  I thought you all might be interested so I put it together late today after my delayed re-watch of the episode.

Hopefully we'll be busy later on the new ep, if it isn't pre-empted for older programming.  But, I don't think that NBC ever does TBL re-runs.

Finally got to re-watch the episode.  At the end, there is a close up of Pete's feet and the black and white trainers he is wearing.  earlier in the ep when they replay Nik being strangled, there is a close up of feet with black and white trainers.  anyone notice if they are the same?

Earlier in ep, it isn't really a replay of Nik being strangled. It's what Tom imagined happening after he goes to Pete's apartment. Tom thinks Pete murdered Nik, so the imagined scene may have those shoes. But it's Tom's detective work on what happened. I just watched it this afternoon, but I didn't really notice the shoes.

Thanks for all the parallels with Season 1. I noticed a lot of them, but not as many as you had listed.

Re: Episode 5.05 - Ilyas Surkov - Discussion Page

Thanks Tuxie.  that makes sense after Tom saw the scuff marks on the floor.
I wonder though if the trainers are tying the two together - so either Pete is the killer (as Tom thinks) or he's involved with or knows who is.  But whatever happened to his hand had to happen afterwards, if he is the killer that is.
