Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

I have a feeling Liz helping Kaplan due to  conclusion she's jumped to will have some major implications going forward, not in a good way.

BBB - I think she is setting examples maybe.  word will spread and get around people are being rounded up?.   I don't think he'll turn on Red.  The other guy may, though.

BBB - Demington is my favorite ship! It was so sad to hear Red say Dembe is his only friend. I wonder what's in the box.

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

So in the promo for next week - Red says to Kate

"You don't need to do this."  Same words he said to Kirk

Kate replies something like, he can't stop what's coming.  Like Kirk said nothing Red could say to him would make him change his mind.

Makes me think again that Red has a similar truth up his sleeve he may ultimately say to Kate.  I guess we'll see!

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

in the global promo - Red talks about them putting out fires and Kate setting new ones.

"The woman is an arsonist":.  Whoa!

Didn't someone on this board speculate that Kate may have set the fire?  Between that and the bunny sewing, I don't know..........

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

Tonight's episode flew by.  I love Demington - thanks BBB!  Looks like Marvin Gerard will be back in the slammer :-(

Saw American flag in background twice, but my hands were full holding the tv antenna so didn't take notes - will post specifics once the episode's screen shots are posted and i refresh my memory.

I have no clue how this season will end! Can't decide if I love that or hate it lol!

Kate let Marvin go...straight to the police. He's a fugitive and now will be in jail for a long time. UNess Red and/or the task force get him out.

When did Ressler ever work with Harry Roat, Jr.  from WAIT UNTIL DARK?

The last thing I thought I'd be doing tonite is writing up a ship-name for Red & Dembe!

What were the names of the actors who played Inspector Andrew Dice Clay - and also Philomena - both were exceptional.

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

I'm sorry to say this but I'm starting to go back to my original thought that Kate may have become a bit unhinged.  Sorry guys.  Not that I want her to be, to be clear. Maybe not.  She just seems so uber-focused but to the point of not being rational.  So much collateral damage.  I guess we will see in the next episode how far she is willing to go to protect Agnes.

And - does Agnes now take precedence over Liz and what Liz does?  I think the answer to that will be the answer to the question.  If what she does starts to harm Liz because she thinks its in Agnes' interest, no matter the cost to Liz well.....I think that will be the answer

We will see.

Marvin is a silver-tongued devil - he'll be a hit in whatever facility he's bound to. And he'll be sprung when Reddington needs him sprung!

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

Ok, is Kate just lying to Liz on purpose or is her memory totally warped? She told Liz the last time she was Agnes was the night she helped Liz escape. We know the last time she saw Agnes was in Cuba when she rescued her, gave to Red, and then lost her to Mato after the car crash.

What did you think about Liz trying to use Agnes as leverage in the Red and Kaplan war? I was surprised she did that. Red said he would do anything to see Agnes, yet he wouldn't agree not to harm her. I guess he's "dead set" on killing her this time.

I guess we know now the truck guy who picked Kaplan up was not Mountain Man but some random stranger.

For a few minutes there I thought I was watching The Americans instead of The Blacklist. The actresses playing Philomena and Alexa have both been characters on The Americans.

Poor Marvin! Taped tight to a pole and turned in as a fugitive. Kaplan does know which of Red's associates to target for the most impact.  The finance guy and the attorney are the lynchpins of his criminal operations.

Actually, I think Red would clean the record before he played it. He seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't want any lint to mess up his listening experience. By the way, I loved the Diane Fowler flashbacks - no contradictions there.

I'm not sure how I feel about Julian Gale. He looks like an undercover vice cop. Seems pretty smart. It's interesting that many of the bodies were people the Reddington task force was trying to turn.

Panabaker's scene was great. A flipped out Panabaker is an entertaining Panabaker.

Overall, a good episode. Dembe and Red are back together again, and that felt very right.

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

Very good episode all around.  Another tension builder.  You had to pay close attention, LOL

Writing, acting and direction, all good.  And I'll say again - I'm glad Ressler is in focus again.  Diego does a good job with that character, and IMO there's potential to show deep things with Ressler

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

Besides being an accomplice,  Kate has also had innocent people killed. Off the top of my head, the argumentative boyfriend last week, and the wife of Red's associate in the hotel in Monaco. Red's bookkeeper may not have been so innocent, but she had him killed as well.

What conclusion has Lliz jumped to?

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

Tuxie400 - good point on Agnes, I was thinking, is that right but then focused on the current episode to keep up!  Yes, Kate handed Agnes to Red in Cuba.  Did she have her after that?  I can't remember.

I was surprised by Liz holding visitation rights ransom for Red.  But, thinking about it, I think that scene was to do two things:

 - That Liz did feel guilty for what happened to Kaplan, though we didn't see her speak that before.  She may have, just not to Red.  Makes me wonder if they are building up to "the talk" between Liz and Red about how her "death" etc affected him.  I don't think she knows doubt Kaplan told her.

-Once again, that Red does not lie to Liz.  As when Liz asked him point blank whether he killed Sam.  He said yes.  Here, he knows he needs to eliminate Kaplan or possibly face dire consequences.  And he's not going to lie to liz about that.

Well that's how I saw it, my two cents at least!

She's definitely going on a tirade and she doesn't seem to be concerned with any kind of 'moral compass'; she's laser focused on taking Red down.

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

Well this is exciting!

It seems we're shaking everything up now. Who's who and what's what. Loyalty, friendship, honesty. How do you determine who to be loyal to, who your friends really are, when to speak the truth or be honest.

There are friends among thieves. Dembe has committed some of his own 'crimes' killing people. He's been taught well. But Raymond and Dembe are like brothers. That was a truly moving scene.

So how will the task force begin to work now? Do you think they will continue to 'cover' for Reddington? so they can get to the big fish on his blacklist? They did a great job of showing each individual trying to come to terms with who's 'side; they are on and whether they're doing the 'right' thing or if they're being manipulated.

Re: Episode 4.18 - Philomena- - Discussion Page

Oh, and another two things about tonight's examples of spoiled bratty  behavior:

Liz - Geez, you won't seem to accept Red as Dad (though you've asked and he's denied - it seems like that's the relationship you've got) but are sooo quick to accept Katya as your babyhood nanny?????

Samar: Just stop being all contrary whenever Aram does something sweet for you.  He's too good for you -  maybe EliseJanet  SHOULD have a chance with him!

On the positive side... I am glad to see Red and Dembe back to their Alan/Denny (or perhaps Rick/Louis a la CASABLANCA) relationship... They do things together!
