Episode 10.9 - The Troll Farmer, Pt. 3

"The Task Force races against the clock to recover a valuable asset stolen from the government; Red hatches a plan to help track down the perpetrators."

Decided to post this early while I had a few minutes. I am assuming this will probably be the last of the Troll Farmer.

Anything can happen with this show!

I'm baking blueberry muffins for the week. My kitchen smells wonderful!

Okay, I liked this MUCH BETTER than last week, although I missed about 5 min about 20 min in...  Definitely need a rewatch!

Re: Episode 10.9 - The Troll Farmer, Pt. 3

This may well be the best episode we've had since the start of season 7. At least it's a massive step up from what the show has been in the past seasons.

For the biggest part of this episode I wondered why it wasn't named after Wujing. But then it turned out we were all trolled: the FBI, Wujing's team and the audience.

I'm glad the Wujing arc is over. It was interesting, but wouldn't keep up an entire season. So I'm happy they used it to transition us to what I assume to be the final stage, instead of dragging it out till the end.

The way this episode was set up is great. In the first set, we see the Troll Farmer being escorted to the post office and escaping. The second set shows us how the post office replica was created and then we get the third set where both sides prepare for the war, only for us to find out that the task force has been misled too.

It's also interesting how they managed to do it all once again on what I presume to be a small budget. We only see a few different locations, get a lot of flashbacks and very little action scenes. Yet, the episode has great dialogue, excitement and many twists.

Although the whole episode could have done with fewer flashbacks (there are things we can fill in for ourselves), it worked well and presented an interesting way to go forward.

Agreed! A decent end to the arc. I liked the fly pin on Red's hat. Nice touch!

Re: Episode 10.9 - The Troll Farmer, Pt. 3

I agree with TheYeti; pretty much summed up the whole thing very well!
Red doesn't only act as the Concierge of Crime, he is also the Concierge of government agencies. All over the world. This hearkens back to the Map of Doom. And don't forget he basically took over the Cabal a long time ago when he got a "seat at the table" with them. That's probably why we never hear of them anymore.

With Wujing gone, now they can concentrate on wrapping up the rest of the story, which seems to be Red ruling the world. Unless, after all, it is just all in his mind. One huge LSD trip psychotic episode. (that was an old theory of mine, anyway) Maybe last night, with the duplicate Post Office, was showing us part of the alternative universe that is Red's mind? Either way, it will be an interesting conclusion, I'm sure.

I knew when I saw Lukas Reiter as the writer that it would be a good story.

If they go all St Elsewhere Snowglobe/LOST NotDead/Actually Purgatory, I won't be happy.

I DID forget Bobby! And I know I must've watched it (though I was more a Falcon Crest girl - with a preference for David Selby's Richard Channing.)
